Decorating with Banners

image via Deco Peques

Hanging banners are a new decor rage in nurseries. It first started as decor for birthday parties and then moved to nursery decor. You can find a large range of artists on Etsy (like the ones from MooBeeTees shown above) who will make custom banners for you or you can pre-purchase sayings. Here are a few interpretations of decorating with banners that I love:

Sweet Dreams fabric banner by New Arrivals available at Project Nursery's OpenSky shop. You can't go wrong with a classic pink and green or blue and green combo.

Hand Painted Collegiate Penant Flags painted by Nicole Blackburn of Celadon Studios for a room in the Sandpiper Home Tour that we designed. We'll probably have an ACC grouping like this painted for my son soon.

For the more modern nursery, Blik just came out with the Wee Gallery Birdie Banner.

This product is truly a big bang for your buck. Each $38 package includes 100 moveable decals that create pattern in a nice 8' x 8' space. The decals are part of their re-stick line so come off easily.

If you are not familiar with Blik or Wee Gallery, Wee Gallery was developed for parents who want an artistic alternation to traditional infant stimulation products. From the time they are born, children are fascinated by the high contrast geometric shapes that the animals and designs are composed of. As their vision develops they become interested in the forms and then the characters. To see more designs by Blik visit Wee Gallery.
