Teen Rooms by Amanda Nisbet Design

I first read about and drooled over the interiors designed by Amanda Nisbet Designs in the August 2009 edition of the House Beautiful but she has been featured in numerous magazines including Elle Decor, Traditional Home, Southern Accents & House & Garden (to name a few). The blog Room Remix featured a teen room designed by her last week and I'd like to share the bright and cheerful space with you.

She is not scared to mix stripes, bold patterns and texture.

Look at the unique monogram on the coverlet. See everything is not matchy/matchy and it looks wonderful!

This little desk nook in this teenager's room could work in any adult room. Even though this is an expensive desk and chair for a teen, it is a timeless design and can later be used in her first apartment or in a guest room.

Same goes for the dresser and mirror.
Now look at the lampshade, I love the hand-painted touch.

And this yellow sofa! What a great place to gossip with your girlfriends.

Here are a few other rooms to feast on. Amanda is not afraid to use color and notice her love of using bright window treatments and wallpaper as almost focal points in the room.

Another daybed with a monogramed coverlet and huge posting board for a teen room.

Yet another daybed, I'm not sure if this is a bedroom or playroom but it looks quite inviting.

Finally a boy's room, more monograms, this time on the pillows, and that white desk chair again.

This is an office/guestroom that I loved, I thought it would be a great inspiration for a boy's room. I'm dying for that painting.

I just had to throw this one in there, love this living room.

Amanda also has a private line of fabrics and lighting which are stunningly unique themselves.

Stay tuned as I'm working on a nursery inspiration board for a nursery based on one of her designs.
