Our second stop in Atlanta: Precious Cargo
Funny enough, I actually met the owners of Precious Cargo three years ago while at a children's trade show reception in Las Vegas. The mother and daughter team (Bobbie Kelman & Dana Kelman Steinwere) were so enthusuastic and knowledable it was easy to sit down and discuss children's decor over a few glasses of wine. Ever since I met them, I was wondering what their store looked like. And I will tell you I was impressed.
Precious Cargo will be four years old in September. The space is huge and they have an extremely large selection of furniture, bedding, room decor, lighting, gifts, diaper bags, and accessories for nurseries up to teen rooms. This is honestly one of the largest specialty stores that I have seen in a while and it was packed with customers.
Precious Cargo has furniture, bedding and room decor to fit any budget and style. Top lines for the store include Newport Cottages, Bratt Decor, Young America, Ragazzi, Young America, Four Seasons Gliders, Dutalier Gliders, Little Castle Gliders, Pine Creek Custom Bedding, Kristaben Bedding, Doddlefish Bedding, Maddie Boo Bedding, New Arrivals Bedding, Serena & Lily Bedding, Dwell, and Bebe Chic Bedding. Precious Cargo also offers an extensive registry service and has interior designers on staff to offer custom room design services.
As you can see from the photos they also carry an array of artwork from Oopsy Daisy, Mary Jack Studio, Art for Kids, & Renditions by Reesa.
Dana was kind enough to take me around the store and point out some of her favorite unique gifts.
These are custom painted wooden letters. When grouped together with two small and one big letter, they make an adorable custom monogram for a nursery. It would look adorable on a door, above a crib or above a changer.
The big letter is only $20 and the small are $16. Please call the store to place an order if you don't live in the area and one of their sales staff can guide you through the color options.
