I spent last weekend in New Orleans visiting a dear friend of mine and her precious dog Zoe. We wined, dined, and shopped all along Magazine Street. I wanted to share a few finds with you from my vacation.
One of my first stops was into this lovely store called Plum. They had these aluminum letters there that I thought would be an adorable modern way to spell out your child's name on a shelf or wall. The 12" letters pictured above are $50 each and the 4" letters below are $10 each.
My favorite children's store that we visited was Pippen Lane. It reminded me of a larger version of Sprout (we were only 2,700 sqft and they are 8,000!). Pippen Lane carries clothing and shoes for boys up to age 12 and girls up to age 14 and also has a wonderful book and toy section. Additionally they sell strollers and have a complete design area where you can work with a consultant to design your child's perfect room. Years ago, John Goodman and his wife moved to New Orleans and saw the need for an "LA" style children's store. They took it upon themselves to create a one stop children's high style emporium in New Orleans and succeeded wonderfully! Even Brangelina shop here.
A charming vignette featuring Art for Kids furniture.
The toy and book section was large, inviting and a wonderful source for gifts.
Sweet, classic and simple layette.
Pippen Lane also carries a line of beautiful hand made clothing called Lylian.
These pieces scream southern tradition and are truly beautiful heirloom pieces.
