Sophisticated Chic Reader Nursery

Our real nursery feature this week comes from friend and blog follower from Fort Worth, Texas. I love so many things about the room from the grasscloth wallpaper, layered window treatments, Bungalow 5 furniture, baby animals prints and Ikat bumper! Ashley you did a beautiful job and I know it is even lovelier in person!

1 - What was the inspiration for your room?
The family that we bought the house from left the long pretty blue floral drapes in the closet. I thought they were a bit traditional for my taste but I used them as a stepping off point. We added the ikat fabrics to make it a little more fun and modern. I did not want the room to be too pink and girly. I wanted a fun, eclectic feel.

2 - What was the first piece that you purchased for the room?
We ordered most of the furniture at one time. The first to arrive was the Oeuf crib which I love!

3 - What is your favorite aspect of the room?
The modern mix of furniture with fun fabric. It has a very peaceful feel to it - now that Elanor has arrived, I am so thankful that the room has such a calming effect. I also love my bentwood rocker - my grandmother gave it to me, she used to rock my dad when he was a baby. And I LOVE the pink lamp.

4 - Now that your room is complete, what would you change or do differently if you could?
I don't love the blue ties on my crib bumper, I would prefer them to be off-white to blend in more with the crib. I think I could have found a great pre-made bumper - really no need for custom.

5 - Please share the sources of some of the items in your nursery with our readers:
Photos - The Animal Print Shop - I got the idea from Nursery Notations! The frames were on sale at Pottery Barn Kids for $11
Glider & Leather Pouf - Serena & Lily
Shelf & Changing Table (Credenza) - Bungalow 5
Changing Table Top - Restoration Hardware

Ashley also wanted to add that Leigh Taylor of Leigh Taylor Interiors helped her choose the fabrics and furniture pieces for the room.
